Garth Nix, author of the popular Keys to the Kingdom
Series and other fantasy novels, will sign books at the store.

Dirk Wales author of the postal picture book A Lucky Dog
Owney, U.S. Rail Mail Mascot. will be on hand to tell us more
about this true story. Mr. Wanamaker, the postmaster mentioned in
the book, brought many innovations to the post office.

Sun Yung Shin will share her book Cooper's Lesson.
The
book is written in both English and Korean and concerns biracial
identity.

provided by Amy's husband Phil. I understand he does a rather convincing
horse. Great family fun!

Magic
Tree Book Clubs!
There are several ongoing book clubs for kids of all ages at The Magic
Tree. If you'd like to sign your child up for more information, call
708-848-0770 and ask to be on our Book Club call list. Here are several
of the clubs that will continue this fall:
Book
Club for Young Readers: Ages 8 - 11 years old.
Lively (we hope!) discussions of new and classic literature for young
readers. Led by Magic Tree staff member Cynthia Douglas. The club
meets the second Sunday of every month.
Cynthia's Book Club is currently reading The Hobbit.
The
SUBVERSIVE Book Club for Teens: Ages 13 and up.
The books chosen for this group have controversial themes guaranteed
to excite stimulating debate. Some adult content and language.Back
to school new meeting time is Saturday at 4 p.m. The Subversive Book
Club is led by Magic Tree staff member Bronwyn Wright.
